Proteins produced by bacterial cells that promote bacterial penetration into mammalian cells. The invasin produced by Yersinia pseudotuberculosis seems to bind to the fibronectin receptor S a 5- b 1 integrin) at a site close to the fibronectin binding site, though the invasin does not have an RGD sequence.
